The Many Uses of the Desert Inn Expressway

Driving West Vegas - The New Web-Guide

Driving eastward over the DI Expressway safely looking semi-south.

The Desert Inn Road Super Arterial is the $84 million-dollar, two-mile road that runs east and west between Valley View and Paradise Road. This expressway was completed in 1995. The DI Expressway provides quick trips between West Vegas and East Vegas. It is elevated over the I-15 Freeway and then drops down under the Strip and continues to Paradise and beyond.

If you're heading eastward on Desert Inn - just after you pass Valley View, you'll notice 'Rick's Genteleman's Club' on your right. As the road starts to rise you'll see the 'Highland Drive Off-Ramp'. Take a right turn onto that ramp to quickly get to 'Highland'. You'll see the 'Spearmint Rhino Strip-Club' at the first stoplight.

Turn left and then right (at the short West Desert Inn Road), go over the railroad tracks and you'll be able to easily reach Industrial Road - which can easily get you to most of the casinos on the west side of the Strip.

The Erotic Heritage Museum and Deja Vu Strip-Club will be on your left. If you continue straight ahead you can reach Trump's International Tower (or turn right to reach Fashion Show Drive) and then the back parking garages for Fashion Show Mall, the front entrance to Trump, the Wynn's two hotel parking garages or the Strip itself.

If you decide to turn right onto Industrial - you can continue southward to reach the back entrance to the Mirage and TI. Travel a bit farther and turn left to reach Ceasars Self-Parking Garage, the Forum Shops Valet Entrance, the front driveway of Caesars or the Strip itself.

If you decide to remain on Industrial it will merge into Frank Sinatra Drive, from where you can find the back entrances to the Monte Carlo Hotel's rear parking lot (Hard Rock's Strip Restaurant, Diablos Cantina, City Center, Showcase Cinema, the Strip Parking Lot and NYNY are nearby).

You can also continue driving south down Frank Sinatra to reach the Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay's rear parking garages or front entrances.

Drivers coming from West Vegas can also easily reach Paradise Road by continuing on the DI Arterial and then turning right to get to Restaurant Row, the Hard Rock, UNLV and the Airport - or turn left (at Paradise and the DIE) to reach the Hilton, the parking-garages to the Sahara, Massage Parlor Row, the Stratosphere - or turn right onto Sahara Avenue to reach Pampplemouse Restaurant, King of Siam, Commercial Center, Meadows Mall or Sunrise Hospital.

The Desert Inn Expressway is a good road to use for avoiding excessive Strip traffic on certain busy weekends and holidays, if you're taking semi-long treks from west to east.
